What Hiking Equipment do you Need?

When preparing for the Gros Morne Hiking festival we suggest packing standard hiking equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Start with a sturdy day pack to carry your essentials, including a water bottle or hydration system to stay hydrated during your adventure. Given the rocky, wet, and uneven terrain often encountered in Gros Morne, wearing proper hiking boots (already broke in) to provide stability and protect your feet. Additionally, weather-appropriate clothing, including layers that can be added or removed as needed, including a waterproof jacket as you will get rained on. A first aid kit and a multi-tool for emergencies or trailside repairs. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential for protection against the sun’s rays in the high alpine regions of Gros Morne. A whistle for signalling for help and a headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries in case we run into any issues on the trail and lose daylight. With the right equipment and preparation, you’ll be ready to tackle the Gros Morne hiking festival with confidence.
